Sunnyhill's caring and committed staff hail from St. Louis and around the world. Sunnyhill participates in the Camp Counselors USA and International Camp Counselors Program, which provides staff from various countries such as Australia, Scotland, the former Soviet Union and many others. Program staff undergo 100 hours of training prior to the first camp session, and continue training throughout the summer. All program staff are trained in accident prevention techniques, Red Cross First Aid, CPR, and emergency response to medical emergencies. Staff who transport campers must be at least 23 years of age and pass safety training and a background check with the Missouri State Highway Patrol. Certified Lifeguards are present at all scheduled swimming and boating activities. During summer camp programs, a Registered Nurse is at camp 24 hours a day.
