VOTE TO GROW ST. LOUIS

 

Monsanto has a long history of providing generous support to the St. Louis region, donating approximately $9 million last year and more than $97 million since 2000. Now is your chance to vote for the St. Louis area non-profit projects you think Monsanto should support.

 

Almost 160 St. Louis area non-profits, including Sunnyhill, have submitted entries into Monsanto’s Grow St. Louis contest. Public voting will determine the top three winners of $15,000, $10,000 and $5,000 grants from Monsanto.

Sunnyhill Inc. Growing St. Louis

 

Have you ever climbed a 50 foot Alpine tower? Nicki has. She may spend most of her days in a wheel chair. She may struggle to clearly speak her own name, but with a rope and a guide and courage and will, she got of her chair and climbed halfway to the top. There was never a more radiant smile, never a more enthusiastic thumbs up than she gave that day. Sunnyhill Adventures created an opportunity for Nicki to grow, and over 500 campers with physical and developmental disabilities from the St. Louis area were given similar opportunities to grow last summer.

 

Sunnyhill Adventures is only one part of Sunnyhill Inc. The agency also provides residential services for over 230 people with developmental disabilities. Some of those services are designed to assist clients to live independently. They might include help finding a job, securing an apartment, developing a budget and using public transportation. All of those "help" enable people to gain confidence and skills and live the lives they choose. Those who require more extensive care also are given opportunities to learn and grow through our camp and educational programs-Sunnyhill Adventures and Sunnyhill U.
